Avoid splitting up from "summary" of How to Survive a Horror Movie by Seth Grahame-Smith

The first rule of surviving a horror movie is to always stick together. I can't stress this enough. When you're alone, you're an easy target for whatever monster, ghost, or psycho is out to get you. It's like painting a big red bullseye on your back. So, no matter how scared you are, no matter how much you want to run away, you have to resist the urge to split up. Think about it. When you're with a group, you have strength in numbers. You can watch each other's backs, cover more ground, and come up with a plan together. But as soon as you go off on your own, you're vulnerable. You might as well just put a sign around your neck that says, "Kill me first." I get it. Sometimes splitting up seems like the smart thing to do. Maybe you think you can cover more ground that way, or that you can distract the bad guy while your friends escape. But trust me, it never works out that way. In horror movies, splitting up is a death sentence. So, no matter what, stay together. Hold hands if you have to. Link arms. Do whatever it takes to keep the group intact. Because when it comes down to it, your chances of survival are always better when you're part of a team. So, remember: united we stand, divided we fall. And in a horror movie, falling means getting killed.
