Let go of judgment and practice acceptance from "summary" of How to Live by Judith Valente

Judgment can be a heavy burden we carry around with us, weighing us down and clouding our view of the world. When we pass judgment on others, we are essentially saying that we know better, that our way of thinking or being is superior. But this only serves to create barriers between ourselves and those around us. It prevents us from truly connecting with others on a deeper level. By letting go of judgment, we free ourselves from the constraints of our own narrow-mindedness. We open ourselves up to the possibility of seeing things from a different perspective, of understanding others in a way we never thought possible. This act of release is an act of liberation, allowing us to be more compassionate and empathetic towards others. Acceptance is the natural companion to letting go of judgment. When we practice acceptance, we are acknowledging the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. We are recognizing that each person is on their own unique journey, facing their own struggles and triumphs. Acceptance allows us to meet others where they are, without trying to change or fix them. In cultivating a mindset of acceptance, we cultivate a sense of peace within ourselves. We no longer feel the need to control or manipulate others, but instead, we can simply be present with them, offering our support and understanding. Acceptance is an invitation to embrace the richness and diversity of human experience, to celebrate the beauty of our differences. Letting go of judgment and practicing acceptance is not always easy. It requires a willingness to challenge our own preconceived notions and biases, to step outside of our comfort zones and embrace the unknown. But the rewards of this practice are immeasurable. It brings us closer to others, deepening our connections and enriching our lives in ways we never thought possible. By opening our hearts to acceptance, we open ourselves to a world of infinite possibilities.
