In my experience, I've found that gender stereotypes can really mess you up. They can get in the way of you growing into the person you want to be. When you're a young boy, you're told to toughen up, not cry, and never show any weakness. It's like you're supposed to be this one-dimensional character that society has already mapped out for you.
