Overcoming fear of making mistakes from "summary" of How I Learned English by Paula Massadas Pereira,Bruna Massadas

The most important lesson I learned on my journey to mastering English was to let go of my fear of making mistakes. It was a constant struggle, a battle between my desire to communicate effectively and my fear of saying the wrong thing. But I realized that the only way to truly learn and improve was to embrace my mistakes, to see them as opportunities for growth rather than as failures. I learned that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process. Every time I stumbled over a word or misunderstood a grammar rule, I was actually one step closer to mastering the language. Instead of being embarrassed or discouraged by my mistakes, I began to see them as valuable lessons that would ultimately make me a better English speaker. One of the turning points for me was when I started to view mistakes as a sign of progress rather than as a sign of failure. I realized that every mistake I made was a sign that I was pushing myself out of my comfort zone, that I was taking risks and challenging myself to learn and grow. Instead of trying to avoid mistakes at all costs, I started to embrace them as an essential part of the learning process. I also learned to be kind to myself when I made mistakes. Instead of being overly critical or self-conscious, I began to approach my mistakes with a sense of curiosity and openness. I saw each mistake as an opportunity to learn something new, to deepen my understanding of the language and to improve my communication skills. By letting go of my fear of making mistakes, I was able to progress more quickly in my English studies. I became more confident in my abilities, more willing to take risks and try new things. I no longer saw mistakes as obstacles to my learning, but as stepping stones on the path to fluency. In the end, overcoming my fear of making mistakes was one of the most important lessons I learned on my journey to mastering English. It allowed me to grow and improve in ways I never thought possible, and it gave me the confidence and resilience to face new challenges with courage and determination. Mistakes are not something to be feared, but something to be embraced and learned from.
