This idea has become so ingrained in our culture that many parents feel guilty if their children are not spending enough time with their friends. They worry that their children will be left out, that they will not fit in, that they will be lonely. But the truth is that children need their parents more than they need their peers. Parents are the ones who provide security, stability, and unconditional love. Parents are the ones who teach children how to navigate the world, how to make decisions, how to handle emotions. Parents are the ones who give children a sense of belonging, a sense of identity, a sense of purpose. In short, parents are the ones who shape children's lives in the most profound ways.
