Arthur Dent's house is, quite simply, in trouble. You see, it's not just any ordinary problem that Arthur is facing. No, it's much more serious than that. His house is about to be demolished. Yes, you heard me right. Demolished. That means completely destroyed, razed to the ground, wiped off the face of the earth. And poor Arthur is completely unaware of this impending disaster. He's just going about his day, minding his own business, utterly oblivious to the fact that his beloved home is on the verge of being reduced to rubble. Now, you might be wondering why Arthur's house is being demolished in the first place. Well, it all has to do with a bureaucratic decision that was made without Arthur's knowledge or consent. You see, a bypass is set to be built right through Arthur's property, and his house happens to be right in the path of this new road.
