In the hollers of Kentucky, where I was raised, change was often seen as something to be feared. The people of my community held tight to their traditions and resisted any sort of transformation that threatened their way of life. But as I navigated the tumultuous waters of adulthood, I came to realize that clinging to the past would only hold me back from achieving my full potential. It was only when I mustered the courage to embrace change that I was able to break free from the cycle of poverty and dysfunction that plagued my family for generations. I had to let go of old habits and beliefs that no longer served me, and open myself up to new possibilities and opportunities.
