Surviving is important from "summary" of Hello Cruel World by Kate Bornstein

Surviving is important. It really is. It's the first step to everything else that might be important to you. If you're dead, you can't make the world a better place, you can't enjoy anything, and you can't make things better for yourself or for anyone else. It's really hard to make things better if you're dead. That's the truth of it. I know sometimes it feels like life is just too hard. It feels like there's no point in going on. But just remember, surviving is important. It's the foundation upon which everything else is built. It's the starting point for all the good things that might come your way. So, when things get tough, when life feels unbearable, just hold on to the fact that surviving is important. And don't be afraid to ask for help. It's not a sign of weakness to reach out when you need it. In fact, it's a sign of strength. It takes courage to admit when you can't do it alone. And there are people out there who care about you, who want to help you, who want to see you survive and thrive. So, don't be afraid to lean on them when you need to. Remember, surviving is important. It's the most basic, fundamental thing you can do. It's the first step towards all the good things that life has to offer. So, keep going, keep fighting, keep surviving. You never know what might be waiting for you on the other side of this tough moment. But you'll never find out if you give up. So, hold on, keep going, and remember that surviving is important.
