Mysterious whispers beckon him from "summary" of Haunted House by Jan Pienkowski

In the dead of night, when the world is shrouded in darkness and silence reigns supreme, something stirs in the haunted house. It is not the creak of old floorboards or the howl of the wind outside. No, it is something far more sinister and mysterious. Whispers, soft and barely audible, float through the air like ghostly apparitions. They beckon to him, calling out his name in a voice that is both alluring and terrifying. He cannot resist the pull of the whispers, no matter how hard he tries. They worm their way into his mind, filling his thoughts with a sense of unease and foreboding. It is as if the very walls of the house are alive with a malevolent presence, one that watches his every move with keen interest. As he navigates the dark corridors and shadowy rooms of the haunted house, the whispers grow louder and more insistent. They seem to be coming from all around him, surrounding him in a cocoon of fear and uncertainty. He can feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, a cold sweat breaking out on his brow. Despite his growing sense of dread, he is drawn further into the heart of the house, unable to resist the siren call of the mysterious whispers. They seem to know things about him that he has never shared with another living soul, secrets that he thought were buried deep in the recesses of his mind. And so he plunges deeper into the darkness, his heart pounding in his chest and his breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The whispers continue to beckon him, their words indistinct but filled with a sense of urgency. He knows that he is walking into danger, that whatever lies at the heart of the haunted house is something beyond his wildest imagination. But still, he cannot turn back. The whispers have taken hold of him, their grasp unrelenting and unforgiving. And so he presses on, his footsteps echoing through the empty halls as he follows the siren call of the mysterious whispers, drawn inexorably towards his fate.
