Ancient curse haunts the halls from "summary" of Haunted House by Jan Pienkowski

Deep within the walls of the old mansion, a malevolent force lingered, its origins shrouded in mystery and fear. The residents whispered of an ancient curse that had been cast upon the halls, a curse that manifested itself in eerie whispers and chilling apparitions that haunted the living. The very air seemed to vibrate with a sense of unease, as though the house itself was alive with a malevolent energy that sought to torment all who dared to set foot within its walls. Shadows danced in the corners of the rooms, taking on sinister shapes that seemed to reach out and grab at the unwary. Visitors to the mansion spoke of a feeling of overwhelming dread that washed over them as they crossed the threshold, a sensation that seemed to seep into their very bones and fill them with a primal fear. Some claimed to have heard the anguished cries of long-dead souls echoing through the corridors, their words a haunting reminder of the curse that bound them to the house for eternity. Despite the best efforts of the living to banish the curse, it remained stubbornly entrenched in the fabric of the building, a dark shadow that refused to be dispelled. Those who sought to unravel its mysteries were met with only frustration and despair, as though the curse itself actively resisted all attempts to understand or break its hold. And so, the ancient curse continued to haunt the halls of the mansion, its presence a constant reminder of the dark forces that lurked within. Until one day, perhaps, someone would come along who could finally lay the curse to rest and bring peace to the tormented souls trapped within its grasp.
