In the second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter found himself face to face with the ghost of Moaning Myrtle. The specter haunted the girls' bathroom on the second floor, wailing and sobbing in the most mournful manner. Her presence made using the facilities quite uncomfortable for the students.
Myrtle's origins traced back to her tragic demise fifty years prior, when she was a student at Hogwarts. She met her untimely end in that very bathroom, becoming a ghost doomed to roam the halls for eternity. Myrtle's sorrowful cries echoed off the walls, causing unease among those who crossed her path.
