Dobby warns Harry not to return to Hogwarts from "summary" of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
"Dobby, don't!" Harry whispered frantically, darting past the elf to try and reach the stairway. But Dobby was too quick for him; he lunged and seized Harry's wrist in a grip like iron."Harry Potter must not go back to Hogwarts," said the elf at once.
"Give it a rest, Dobby, I'm not going to," said Harry fiercely. "That's not why I'm here. But I can't say any more, I'm not supposed to."
Dobby's enormous, tennis-ball-shaped eyes were wide with fear.
"But he must, sir! He must!" Dobby squeaked, his eyes still huge with fear. "There is a plot, Harry Potter. A plot to make most terrible things happen."
Harry's blood turned to ice in his veins. "What terrible things?" he said, his voice squeaking.
Dobby shook his head, his expression miserable. "Dobby cannot... Dobby must not tell... Go home, Harry Potter, go home. Harry Potter must not meddle in this."
Harry stared at him. "Who's behind this?" he said.
Dobby's eyes were wide and he seemed to be trying to give Harry a hint. But Dobby could not tell. Dobby could only give a hint. Dobby must only give a hint.
"Is it Voldemort?" Harry asked.
Dobby nodded, his ears flapping. Harry's stomach lurched. Dobby was pointing at the diary, and Harry now grabbed it and dashed up to his dormitory, pulled off his cloak, and began to scribble a note to Ron.
"Stay away from me, Dobby," he said firmly, as he dashed to the door.
