Basketball player dreams big from "summary" of Half Girl Friend by Chetan Bhagat
Riya's brother had a dream. He wanted to be a basketball player. Not just any player, but a star. He had posters of NBA legends all over his room. He watched videos of their games and practiced in the park for hours. Riya told me that when he played, it was like he was in a trance. He would forget about everything else and just focus on the game. He knew that becoming a professional basketball player was not easy, especially in India. But he didn't let that stop him. He worked hard, day in and day out. He joined a basketball academy and trained with some of the best coaches in the country. He played in local tournaments and won MVP awards. He was on his way to achieving his dream. But then, tragedy struck. Riya's brother got injured during a crucial match. It was a career-ending injury. His dreams were shattered, and he fell into a deep depression. Riya said that he stopped talking to anyone and refused to leave his room. It was like he had lost all hope. I could see the pain in Riya's eyes as she told me about her brother's struggle. She said that he would often look at his old basketball trophies and medals, and tears would well up in his eyes. It was heartbreaking to see someone with so much passion and talent give up on his dreams. But then, something changed. Riya's brother started coaching young kids at the local park. He would teach them the basics of basketball and share his knowledge and experience with them. Riya said that he was like a different person when he was on the court with those kids. His eyes would light up, and he would smile like he used to before the injury. I realized then that dreams don't always have to die. They can transform into something else, something beautiful. Riya's brother may never have become a professional basketball player, but he found a new purpose in coaching. He was living his dream in a different way, and it was just as fulfilling. Riya's brother taught me that no matter what life throws at you, you should never stop dreaming. Dreams have the power to give us hope, to drive us forward, to make us better. And sometimes, when one dream ends, another one begins. It's all about how we choose to see it.Similar Posts
