In Laputa, the inhabitants are known for their commitment to intellectual pursuits above all else. They devote themselves entirely to the realm of abstract ideas, neglecting practical matters and human relationships in the process. Their minds are constantly occupied with complex mathematical and scientific theories, while their bodies suffer from neglect and disuse. The Laputians spend their days absorbed in calculations and experiments, paying little attention to the world outside their own minds.
