Moving up to the next grade from "summary" of First Grade, Here I Come! by Tony Johnston

In first grade, we leave behind the days of kindergarten and step into a whole new world of learning. This is a big step for us, one that we have been eagerly waiting for. We are excited to move up to the next grade, where we will learn new things and make new friends. In first grade, we will learn to read and write. We will begin to understand numbers and how they work. We will explore the world around us through science and social studies.
