Embracing mystery allowed me to embrace my faith from "summary" of Finding God in the Waves by Mike McHargue

When I allowed myself to accept that there were aspects of my faith that I couldn't fully understand, it opened up a new depth to my relationship with God. I used to think that faith required having all the answers, that doubt and uncertainty were signs of weakness or lack of faith. But as I delved deeper into my spiritual journey, I began to realize that embracing mystery was actually a powerful way to strengthen my faith. By acknowledging that there were things about God and the universe that were beyond my comprehension, I was able to let go of the need for certainty and control. I started to see that faith wasn't about having all the right answers, but about trusting in something bigger than myself. It was about being comfortable with the unknown and finding peace in the midst of uncertainty. Embracing mystery allowed me to let go of my preconceived notions about God and spirituality. I no longer felt the need to fit God into a neat and tidy box, but instead allowed Him to be infinitely complex and unknowable. This shift in perspective brought a sense of humility and awe to my faith, as I began to see God as a vast and mysterious presence that I could never fully understand. As I embraced mystery, I found that my faith became more authentic and genuine. I no longer felt the pressure to have all the right answers or to pretend like I had everything figured out. Instead, I was able to approach God with a sense of curiosity and wonder, knowing that there was always more to discover and learn. In the end, embracing mystery allowed me to embrace my faith in a deeper and more profound way. It allowed me to let go of my need for certainty and control, and to instead trust in the beauty and complexity of the unknown. It transformed my relationship with God from one of rigid dogma to one of open-hearted exploration and wonder. And in doing so, it brought me closer to the divine mystery that lies at the heart of all existence.
