Accepting uncertainty as part of the human condition brought me peace from "summary" of Finding God in the Waves by Mike McHargue

In my journey of exploring faith and science, I've come to realize that uncertainty is an inherent part of being human. At first, this realization was unsettling - I craved certainty and clarity in all aspects of my life. I wanted concrete answers to all my questions, especially when it came to matters of spirituality and belief. However, as I delved deeper into the complexities of existence, I began to see the beauty in embracing the unknown. Accepting uncertainty as a fundamental aspect of the human experience allowed me to let go of my need for absolute answers. I learned to appreciate the mystery and wonder that come with not knowing everything. This shift in perspective brought me a sense of peace and freedom that I had never experienced before. Instead of viewing uncertainty as a source of anxiety and fear, I began to see it as a source of growth and exploration. By acknowledging that uncertainty is a natural part of life, I was able to release the need to control every aspect of my existence. I realized that not everything needs to be neatly categorized or neatly understood. Sometimes, it's okay to simply sit with the questions and embrace the ambiguity. This acceptance of uncertainty allowed me to approach life with a sense of curiosity and openness, rather than with rigid expectations and preconceived notions. In the grand scheme of things, uncertainty is what makes life exciting and unpredictable. It's what allows for growth, transformation, and evolution. Instead of resisting the unknown, I learned to lean into it - to welcome it as a companion on my journey of self-discovery and spiritual exploration. Embracing uncertainty as a natural part of the human condition brought me a deep sense of peace and contentment that I had been searching for all along.
