Letting go of perfectionism allows us to prioritize progress over perfection in our endeavors from "summary" of Essentialism by Greg McKeown

Perfectionism is the enemy of progress. When we are constantly striving for perfection in everything we do, we end up paralyzed by fear of failure. This fear keeps us from taking risks and making decisions that could lead to real progress in our endeavors. By letting go of the need to be perfect, we free ourselves from this fear and open ourselves up to the possibilities of growth and improvement. We can focus on making incremental progress towards our goals, rather than getting stuck in an endless cycle of trying to reach unattainable standards. Prioritizing progress over perfection allows us to be more flexible and adaptable in our approach to achieving our goals. We are able to learn from our mistakes and make adjustments as we go, rather than being too rigid in our thinking and unable to change course when necessary. In the end, it is the progress we make towards our goals that truly matters, not whether we achieve perfection along the way. By embracing this mindset, we can move forward with confidence and purpose, knowing that we are on the right path to success.
