When analysing transistor circuits, it is important to understand the basic principles that govern the behavior of transistors. Transistors are semiconductor devices that can amplify or switch electronic signals. They are made up of three layers of semiconductor material: the emitter, the base, and the collector. By applying a small current to the base, a much larger current can flow from the collector to the emitter. There are two main types of transistors: bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and field-effect transistors (FETs).
