From a young age, I was keenly aware of the expectations society had for me. As a child of mixed race, I was constantly reminded of the need to fit into predetermined boxes and conform to certain norms. I was expected to choose a side, to embrace one part of my identity over the other. But deep down, I felt a pull towards exploring and embracing all aspects of who I was, without feeling the need to adhere to society's rigid expectations.
This tension between society's expectations and my personal desires only grew as I got older. I found myself questioning the path that had been laid out for me, wondering if it truly resonated with my innermost self. I realized that there was a conflict between what was expected of me and what I truly yearned for. I struggled with the pressure to conform, to live up to the image that had been projected onto me, while trying to stay true to my own dreams and aspirations.
