Begin with clear and distinct ideas from "summary" of Discourse on the Method and the Meditations by Rene Descartes

At the very beginning of my philosophical journey, I made a conscious decision to cast aside all of my previously held beliefs. I wanted to start from scratch, to build my understanding of the world upon a foundation of clear and distinct ideas. This decision was not made lightly, but rather came after much contemplation and reflection on the nature of knowledge and truth. I realized that in order to truly understand the world around me, I needed to begin with a clean slate. I needed to strip away all of the preconceived notions and assumptions that had been ingrained in me since childhood. Only by doing so could I hope to arrive at a true understanding of reality. By starting with clear and distinct ideas, I was able to avoid the pitfalls of doubt and uncertainty that can plague those who rely on faulty assumptions and incomplete knowledge. I was able to build a solid framework upon which I could then construct my understanding of the world, piece by piece. This process of starting from the ground up was not easy, nor was it without its challenges. But by remaining steadfast in my commitment to clarity and precision, I was able to navigate the complexities of philosophical inquiry with confidence and purpose. In the end, my decision to begin with clear and distinct ideas proved to be the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe. It allowed me to see the world in a new light, free from the constraints of preconceived notions and false beliefs. And it set me on a path towards a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.
