On the other hand, manipulation tactics can also be overt and blatant. In these cases, the manipulator uses intimidation, threats, or coercion to control the victim. Overt manipulation tactics leave no room for interpretation – the victim knows they are being manipulated, but may feel powerless to resist. The manipulator may use fear, aggression, or other tactics to force the victim into compliance.
