Cultivate gratitude to combat scarcity from "summary" of Daring Greatly by Brené Brown

In our culture of scarcity, where we never have or are enough, cultivating gratitude can be a powerful antidote. When we constantly focus on what we lack, we fuel feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness. This mindset of scarcity leads to a constant state of fear - fear of not being good enough, fear of not having enough, fear of not being loved or accepted. Gratitude, on the other hand, shifts our focus to what we do have, to the abundance that already exists in our lives. When we cultivate gratitude, we begin to see the richness and fullness of our lives, rather than the scarcity and lack. This shift in perspective allows us to appreciate the small moments of joy and connection that we might otherwise overlook. Gratitude also helps us to recognize and celebrate our own worthiness. In a culture that constantly tells us we need more to be happy, gratitude is a radical act of defiance. It is a rejection of the scarcity mindset that keeps us trapped in a cycle of fear and dissatisfaction. When we cultivate gratitude, we reclaim our power to define our own worth and create our own sense of sufficiency.
