Lukewarm Christianity is unacceptable from "summary" of Crazy Love by Francis Chan

Some people think it's okay to be a "good Christian" by simply going to church once a week, saying a prayer before meals, and maybe throwing in a few volunteer hours here and there. But that's not what true Christianity is about. Lukewarm Christianity is not just ineffective - it's unacceptable. God doesn't want lukewarm followers who are half-hearted in their devotion. He wants passionate, wholehearted disciples who are willing to give everything for Him. Being lukewarm is like saying to God, "I'll follow you, but only when it's convenient for me." It's a slap in the face to the One who gave everything for us. In the book of Revelation, Jesus speaks out against lukewarm Christians, saying that He would rather they be hot or cold, but because they are lukewarm, He will spit them out of His mouth. That's a strong statement, but it shows just how serious God is about our commitment to Him. Lukewarm Christianity is dangerous because it lulls us into a false sense of security. We think we're doing enough to please God, but in reality, we're falling short of what He truly desires from us. We need to be on fire for God, not just going through the motions. When we truly understand the depth of God's love for us, we can't help but respond with all of our being. Lukewarm Christianity is a contradiction to the radical, sacrificial love that God has shown us. We need to be all in, giving everything we have to the One who gave everything for us.
