The patterns of this world are often focused on self-gratification and personal gain, leading us down a path that is ultimately unfulfilling.
As followers of Christ, we are called to live differently. We are called to a higher standard, one that is not dictated by the patterns of this world. Instead of conforming to the ways of society, we are called to be set apart, to live lives that reflect the love and grace of God. This means putting aside our own desires and ambitions, and putting God first in all that we do.
When we choose to not conform to the patterns of this world, we are making a statement. We are saying that we value something greater than the temporary pleasures and treasures that this world has to offer.
