Violet Beauregarde is a girl who is always chewing gum. She chews gum all day long, chewing and chewing and chewing. She never stops. Her mother and father are very proud of her because she is the best gum-chewer in the whole of America. One day, Violet hears about a new kind of gum, a fabulous gum that is made by an amazing inventor. She wants to try this gum more than anything else in the world. She begs and begs her parents to buy it for her, and finally they give in and buy her a bar of the amazing gum. Violet takes the gum and starts to chew it. It is the most delicious gum she has ever tasted. But then something strange happens. The gum starts to change. It becomes a new flavor, a flavor that no one has ever tasted before. Violet keeps chewing, faster and faster, trying to taste all the wonderful flavors. But then the gum starts to do something even stranger.
