Fizzy Lifting Drinks from "summary" of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Colour Edition) by Roald Dahl

Mr. Wonka stretched out his hand towards the taps. "Now, watch carefully," he said, "because I'm going to open one of these taps and drink a little of what comes out. And you watch very carefully, because then you're going to drink some too." He opened the tap, and a stream of something clear and fizzy splashed into the glass. "What is it?" asked Grandpa Joe. "Fizzy lifting drinks," said Mr. Wonka. "Float upwards like a bubble!" Mr. Wonka took a sip, smacked his lips, and smiled at the others. "Delicious," he said. "It makes you float and float and float. Up to the ceiling, in fact." "You're joking!" cried Grandpa Joe. "I am not joking," said Mr. Wonka. "I'm deadly serious. It's the latest thing I've invented. A little of this stuff and you can float off like a balloon." Charlie hesitated. He wasn't sure he wanted to drink something that would make him float into the air. "Go on!" Mr. Wonka said. "Try some! There's nothing to it. It's like drinking a bottle of soda pop." Charlie took the glass and put it to his lips. It tasted wonderful. It was like a million little bubbles of champagne all mixed together. The bubbles were dancing over his tongue. "Good, isn't it?" said Mr. Wonka. Charlie nodded. "Now, watch this!" Mr. Wonka cried, and suddenly he shot up into the air. He went shooting up towards the ceiling like a rocket. He was still holding the glass with the Fizzy Lifting Drink in it. "Good heavens!" cried Mrs. Bucket. "He's flying!" "He's floating!" cried Grandpa Joe. "He's going up! Look at him!" They watched Mr. Wonka as he disappeared into the air. He went right up and out of sight.
