Finding hope in education from "summary" of Breaking Night by Liz Murray
Education was my lifeline, my beacon of hope in the darkness that surrounded me. It was my escape, my ticket out of a life of poverty and despair. I clung to my studies like a drowning person clings to a life preserver, knowing that education was the key to a better future. I poured myself into my schoolwork, hungry for knowledge and eager to prove myself. I stayed up late into the night, poring over textbooks and cramming for exams, determined to succeed against all odds.
