Speak up for yourself and others from "summary" of Bossypants by Tina Fey
This is important. I know that is sounds like some terrible after-school special “Believe-in-yourself†bullshit. But itâ€TMs not. I think thatâ€TMs one of the things that saved me about being a bossiness woman. If youâ€TMre a bossy young girl, you can boss anyone around; itâ€TMs like a superpower. But if youâ€TMre a bossy adult woman, you are a bitch. Iâ€TMm not advocating for women to be rude. I just want women to have the same opportunities as men to be heard. I donâ€TMt think there is any difference between men and women, but there is a difference between the way that men and women are treated. If youâ€TMre a woman and you donâ€TMt speak up, you are invisible. If you are a man and you donâ€TMt speak up, you are mysterious. It is important for women to speak up for themselves and for other women because the rule of law is a man-made construct. Women are not allowed to make laws. So they have to learn how to operate in a world that is not made for them. Women need to speak up for themselves and other women to make their voices heard in a male-dominated society. Women need to speak up for themselves and other women because if they donâ€TMt, no one else will. Women are often silenced by the patriarchal system that values menâ€TMs voices over womenâ€TMs voices. Women need to speak up to break the cycle of oppression and make the world a more equal and just place for everyone. Women need to speak up to challenge the status quo and demand change. Women need to speak up to create a world where everyoneâ€TMs voices are heard and valued equally. Speaking up for yourself and others is not always easy. It requires courage, strength, and resilience. But it is necessary for women to speak up in order to make progress and create change. Women need to speak up for themselves and other women to create a more equal and just society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Women need to speak up to challenge the existing power structures and create a more inclusiveSimilar Posts
