Coping mechanisms are the tools we use to navigate the challenges life throws our way. They are the strategies we employ to manage stress, anxiety, and other difficult emotions. For me, coping mechanisms are essential to my daily life as someone with a neurological difference. They help me regulate my emotions and maintain a sense of balance in a world that can often feel overwhelming. One coping mechanism I rely on is routine. By establishing a set schedule for my day, I am able to create a sense of predictability and structure. This helps me feel more in control and less anxious about the unknown.
