Lessons learned from past experiences from "summary" of Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

One thing I learned from my mother is that life is not fair. She would always say, "Life is not fair," and I would roll my eyes because I thought she was just saying it to make me feel better. But as I got older, I realized she was right. Life is not fair. It's not fair that some people are born into wealth and privilege while others struggle just to survive. It's not fair that some people are treated differently because of the color of their skin or where they come from. Growing up in South Africa during apartheid, I saw firsthand how unfair life can be. I saw how people were oppressed and marginalized simply because of the color of their skin. I saw how my own mother had to fight tooth and nail to give me a better life than she had. I learned that life is not fair, but that doesn't mean we should give up. My mother never gave up. She taught me that no matter what obstacles we face, we must keep fighting for what we believe in.
