The body, a battleground. A place where societal expectations clash and collide. Where the rules of the game are constantly changing, leaving us bruised and broken. We are told how to look, how to act, how to be. We are judged and scrutinized at every turn. Our bodies become a canvas for society to paint its distorted ideals upon. We are molded and shaped into what is deemed acceptable, desirable, worthy. From a young age, we are bombarded with messages about how we should look, dress, and behave. We are taught that our bodies are not our own, but rather a reflection of the expectations placed upon us. We are told to conform, to fit in, to be like everyone else. We are made to feel inadequate, ashamed, and unworthy if we do not measure up to these impossible standards. The battle rages on, both internally and externally.
