Practice compassion from "summary" of Bhagvat Gita, Song of God by Dr. Roopnarine Singh MD FRCPC
Compassion is a fundamental aspect of our existence as human beings. It is the ability to empathize with others, to understand their suffering, and to offer support and kindness. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna teaches us the importance of practicing compassion in our daily lives. He reminds us that all living beings are interconnected and that we should treat others with the same love and care that we would want for ourselves. When we practice compassion, we cultivate a sense of unity and understanding with those around us. We recognize that everyone is facing their own struggles and challenges, and we strive to offer a helping hand or a kind word whenever we can. Compassion allows us to transcend our own self-centered desires and to focus on the well-being of others. It is a powerful force that can bring us closer together as a community and as a society. By practicing compassion, we also cultivate a sense of humility and gratitude. We come to realize that we are all part of a larger tapestry of life, and that each and every one of us has a role to play in the greater scheme of things. When we approach others with compassion, we open ourselves up to new possibilities and opportunities for growth and learning. We become more open-minded and receptive to the needs and concerns of those around us. Compassion is not always easy to practice, especially in a world that can often feel harsh and unforgiving. However, by following the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and by cultivating a sense of inner peace and understanding, we can learn to approach others with kindness and empathy. We can learn to see the divinity in all living beings, and to treat them with the respect and care that they deserve.- Practicing compassion is a way to honor our own humanity and the humanity of others. It is a way to connect with the deeper truths of our existence and to live our lives in a way that is meaningful and fulfilling. Through compassion, we can create a more harmonious and loving world for ourselves and for future generations to come.
