Arjun's dilemma on the battlefield from "summary" of BHAGAVAD GITA AS IT IS [HINDI LANGUAGE]. by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda
The prince Arjun was standing on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, facing a great dilemma. He was torn between his duty as a warrior and his love for his family members who were on the opposing side. His mind was filled with confusion and he was unable to make a decision. Arjun was faced with the prospect of fighting against his own relatives, teachers, and friends. He was overcome with grief at the thought of killing his loved ones. He felt that by engaging in the battle, he would be committing a great sin and he was plagued by doubts about the righteousness of the war. In his distress, Arjun turned to Lord Krishna for guidance. Krishna, who was his charioteer, began to enlighten Arjun about his duty as a warrior and the nature of the soul. He explained to Arjun that it was his duty to fight in the war as a Kshatriya, regardless of the consequences. Krishna taught Arjun about the eternal nature of the soul, which is indestructible and beyond harm. He explained that the body is merely a temporary vessel for the soul and that death is inevitable for everyone. Therefore, Arjun should not grieve for those who are destined to die, as the soul is eternal and cannot be destroyed. Krishna urged Arjun to rise above his attachment to his family members and to fulfill his duty as a warrior. He reminded Arjun of the importance of upholding righteousness and fighting for the greater good, even if it meant going against his loved ones. Through his teachings, Krishna helped Arjun to overcome his doubts and confusion. He inspired Arjun to let go of his attachment and to focus on his duty without being swayed by emotions. Arjun realized that it was his duty to fight in the war and he was ready to face his enemies with courage and determination. Arjun's dilemma on the battlefield serves as a powerful lesson about the importance of duty, righteousness, and detachment. It teaches us to let go of our attachments and to focus on doing what is right, even in the face of adversity. Krishna's guidance helped Arjun to find clarity and purpose in the midst of his confusion, showing us the way to overcome our own dilemmas and challenges in life.Similar Posts
