Arjuna's inner conflict from "summary" of Bhagavad-gītā as it is by

Arjuna, standing on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, faced a deep inner conflict. He was torn between his duty as a warrior to fight in the battle and his personal feelings of compassion and sorrow. This conflict arose from his confusion about what was right and wrong, and what his duty truly was in that moment. Arjuna's inner turmoil stemmed from his attachment to his family, friends, and teachers who stood on the opposing side of the battlefield. He was overwhelmed by emotions of grief and compassion, as he saw the consequences of the impending war - the destruction of his own kin. Arjuna's doubts and fears clouded his judgement, leading him to question the righteousness of the war and the purpose of his actions. He was unsure of his role in the grand scheme of things and sought guidance on how to navigate the moral complexities he faced. In his dialogue with Lord Krishna, Arjuna expressed his concerns and sought clarity on his duty as a warrior. Krishna, as his charioteer, mentor, and friend, provided him with profound wisdom and guidance, helping him see beyond his immediate emotions and attachments. Through their conversation, Krishna enlightened Arjuna about the nature of the self, the concept of duty (dharma), and the importance of detachment and selflessness in fulfilling one's responsibilities. He urged Arjuna to rise above his personal desires and fears, and to act in accordance with his duty as a warrior without being attached to the results of his actions. Krishna's teachings helped Arjuna overcome his inner conflict and find the courage and clarity to fulfill his duty as a warrior. He learned to surrender to the divine will and trust in the righteousness of his actions, regardless of the outcomes. Arjuna emerged from this inner turmoil as a transformed individual, ready to face the challenges ahead with a sense of purpose and clarity.
