Time defines our experience of reality from "summary" of Being and Time by Martin Heidegger

The concept of time as it pertains to our experience of reality is fundamental to our understanding of existence. Time, according to Heidegger, is not merely a measurement of moments passing, but rather a framework within which our existence unfolds. It is through the lens of time that we are able to make sense of the world around us, to perceive ourselves in relation to our surroundings, and to create meaning in our lives. Time, in Heidegger's view, is not something external to us, but rather an integral part of our being. Our experience of reality is shaped by the temporality of our existence – by the past that informs our present, the future that beckons us forward, and the ever-changing present moment in which we find ourselves. Our understanding of ourselves and the world is contingent upon our ability to navigate the complexities of time, to situate ourselves within its ebb and flow, and to come to terms with the temporality of our existence. In Being and Time, Heidegger explores the ways in which our experience of reality is deeply intertwined with our experience of time. He argues that our understanding of ourselves as beings is contingent upon our ability to grapple with the temporality of our existence – to confront the fact of our mortality, to reckon with the impermanence of all things, and to come to terms with the fleeting nature of our lives. Through his examination of the concept of time, Heidegger invites us to consider the ways in which our experience of reality is shaped by our engagement with the temporal dimensions of our existence. Time is not simply a backdrop against which our lives unfold, but rather a dynamic force that informs our very being. By embracing the temporality of our existence, we are able to deepen our understanding of ourselves, to connect more fully with the world around us, and to engage more authentically with the complexities of human existence.
