To challenge the status quo is to question the rules and norms that govern our lives. It is to refuse to accept things as they are simply because that is how they have always been. It is to push back against the notion that we must conform to the expectations of society, of our bosses, of our families. It is to demand change, even when change seems impossible. Challenging the status quo requires courage. It requires a willingness to stand up and be counted, even when doing so may be risky. Challenging the status quo is about refusing to accept the limitations that others place on us. It is about recognizing our own power and potential, and refusing to let anyone or anything hold us back. It is about dreaming big, and then going out and making those dreams a reality. So let us not be content to sit back and accept the world as it is. Let us instead be pirates, sailing into uncharted waters, challenging the status quo at every turn. Let us be fearless, be bold, be unapologetically ourselves. Let us be more pirate.
