Childhood adventures in Bengal from "summary" of Autobiography of a Yogi (Hungarian) by Paramahansa Yogananda
Bengal was the playground of my childhood adventures. The very air was filled with the fragrance of mango blossoms, and the sunlit gardens were a paradise for a young boy's imagination. I would often escape into the dense groves, where the whispering palms and rustling bamboo seemed to hold secrets waiting to be discovered. One of my favorite pastimes was to wander through the lush jungles, following the winding paths that led to hidden ponds and bubbling streams. I would spend hours watching the colorful birds flit from tree to tree, their melodies blending with the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze. The vibrant hues of the flowers and the sweet scent of jasmine filled my senses, transporting me to a world of wonder and enchantment. But it was not just the natural beauty of Bengal that captivated me. The people I met along the way were just as fascinating. I would often stop to chat with the villagers, listening to their tales of ancient legends and folklore. Their simple way of life and deep connection to the land left a lasting impression on me, shaping my understanding of the world and my place in it. As I grew older, my adventures in Bengal took on a new significance. I began to explore the spiritual side of this mystical land, seeking out the wise sages and holy men who dwelled in remote hermitages and caves. Their teachings opened my eyes to the deeper truths of existence, guiding me on a path of self-discovery and enlightenment. Through all my experiences in Bengal, one thing remained constant - the sense of wonder and awe that filled my heart. The beauty of the landscape, the wisdom of the people, and the spiritual insights I gained along the way all combined to shape my understanding of the world and my place in it. And though my adventures in Bengal may have come to an end, the memories and lessons I carry with me will forever remain a cherished part of my journey through life.Similar Posts
