Totalitarian control from "summary" of Animal Farm and 1984 by George Orwell

Totalitarian control is the epitome of power in its most oppressive form; it is the complete subjugation of every aspect of an individual's life to the will of a single ruling entity. In both Animal Farm and 1984, George Orwell masterfully depicts the horrors of such control, showcasing its devastating effects on society and the individual. In Animal Farm, the pigs, led by Napoleon, rise to power after overthrowing their human oppressors. Initially, the animals work together towards a common goal of equality and freedom. However, as Napoleon consolidates his power, he becomes increasingly tyrannical, using fear and manipulation to maintain control. The pigs rewrite history, deceive the other animals, and eventually become indistinguishable from the humans they once despised. Similarly, in 1984, the Party exerts totalitarian control over the citizens of Oceania.
