They overcome their fears from "summary" of Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

Eve had always been the kind of person who ran from her fears rather than facing them head-on. She believed that if she ignored them for long enough, they would disappear on their own. But when she met Jacob, everything changed. He challenged her to confront her fears, to acknowledge them and work through them instead of pretending they didn't exist. At first, Eve resisted. She was scared of what might happen if she let her guard down and allowed herself to be vulnerable. But Jacob was persistent, gently pushing her out of her comfort zone and encouraging her to take risks. Slowly but surely, Eve began to see that facing her fears wasn't as terrifying as she had thought. In fact, each time she confronted one, she felt a little lighter, a little freer. One by one, Eve tackled her deepest fears – of failure, of rejection, of not being good enough. With Jacob by her side, she found the strength to push through the discomfort and come out the other side stronger and more resilient. And as she did, she discovered a newfound sense of confidence and self-assurance that she had never known before. In the end, Eve realized that her fears had held her back for far too long. By confronting them head-on, she was able to break free from their grip and finally embrace her true self. She learned that it was okay to be scared, but that true courage came from facing those fears and moving forward despite them. And as she looked towards the future, she knew that she was capable of anything – as long as she had the courage to try.
