In the city of Paris, there existed a stark contrast between those who possessed wealth and those who suffered in poverty. The rich lived in luxurious homes, adorned with fine furnishings and surrounded by servants catering to their every need. They dined on extravagant meals and wore the latest fashions, their lives seemingly untouched by the hardships faced by the less fortunate. On the other hand, the poor struggled to survive in squalid conditions, living in rundown tenements with barely enough food to eat.
