The desire for escape, for freedom, was a constant ache for Amanda. It gnawed at her insides, a hunger that could not be satiated. She dreamt of breaking free from her captors, of running towards the horizon with arms outstretched. But each time she tried, she was met with failure. Her attempts were thwarted, crushed beneath the weight of reality.
