Placed in dangerous situations by his mother from "summary" of A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer

From the very beginning, my mother made it clear that I was different from my siblings. She singled me out, treating me with disdain and subjecting me to her cruel and torturous ways. I was constantly placed in dangerous situations by her, forced to endure physical and emotional abuse that no child should ever have to experience. My mother seemed to take pleasure in watching me suffer, devising cruel punishments that left me broken and bruised. She would lock me in the bathroom for hours on end, denying me food and water until I was on the brink of collapse. I would be forced to stand on a chair for hours, my arms outstretched above my head until I could no longer bear the pain. I never knew what would set her off or when the next punishment would come. It was a constant state of fear and anxiety, always on edge and waiting for the next blow to fall. I would try to please her, to do everything she asked of me in the hopes of avoiding her wrath, but nothing was ever good enough. As I grew older, the abuse only seemed to escalate. She would force me to drink ammonia, telling me it was medicine to make me a better son. She would burn me on the stove, leaving me with scars that would never fade. I was nothing more than a pawn in her sick game, a plaything for her twisted amusement. Despite everything she put me through, I never stopped loving her. I clung to the hope that one day she would change, that she would see the pain she was causing and stop. But deep down, I knew that she was beyond redemption, that her cruelty knew no bounds. In the end, it was my own strength and resilience that saved me from her clutches. I refused to be broken by her, to let her strip me of my humanity. I survived her abuse, emerging stronger and more determined than ever to never let anyone hurt me like that again.
