Lived in constant fear of his mother's wrath from "summary" of A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer

Every day I woke up, unsure of what the day would bring. The only thing I knew for certain was that my mother's wrath would make an appearance at some point. It was like living on a knife's edge, never knowing when the blade would come down. Her anger was a force to be reckoned with, a storm that swept through our house leaving destruction in its wake. I never knew what would trigger her rage - sometimes it was a simple mistake, like spilling a glass of milk, other times it was for no reason at all. The fear of her anger consumed me, it was a constant weight on my shoulders that I could never shake. It followed me everywhere, like a shadow that never left my side. I tried to be perfect, to anticipate her every need and whim, but no matter what I did, it was never enough. I lived in a state of perpetual anxiety, always on edge, waiting for the next outburst. Her words cut like knives, leaving scars that would never fully heal. I was a prisoner in my own home, trapped in a cycle of abuse that seemed never-ending. Her wrath was like a dark cloud that hung over our house, casting a shadow on everything it touched. I longed for a moment of peace, a reprieve from the storm that raged inside her. But it never came. And so, I lived in constant fear of her wrath, never knowing when it would strike next.
