Clay learns to appreciate the impact of his actions from "summary" of 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Throughout the story, Clay Jensen goes through a transformation as he listens to Hannah Baker's tapes. At first, he is confused and angry about being included in the tapes, wondering what he could have possibly done to deserve being a part of Hannah's story. However, as he listens to her reasons, he begins to understand the impact of his actions on her life. As Clay listens to each tape, he realizes the role he played in Hannah's downward spiral. He remembers the moments when he could have reached out to her, when he could have shown her kindness or understanding.
