The Tipping Point is a book written by Malcolm Gladwell in 2000. It explores the psychology behind why things become popular. The book explains how trends and patterns can reach a critical mass, creating a situation called a "tipping point". It focuses on the three rules of epidemics: the Law of the Few, the Stickiness Factor, and the Power of Context. The Law of the Few states that a small number of people can influence a large number of people, often moreso than large numbers of individuals. The Stickiness Factor explores the idea that for an epidemic to spread, its message must have an element of attraction and memorability. Power of Context discusses how external factors can influence the way an epidemic spreads, such as the environment a message is placed in. The book explains that by understanding these rules, anyone can turn something into an epidemic.
