The Oz Principle is a self-help book focused on helping people achieve peak performance. Written by the authors Roger Connors, Tom Smith, and Craig Hickman, the book shows how organizations can achieve their goals by using accountability at all levels of the organization. In the book, the authors use the analogy of the βThe Wizard of Ozβ and the Yellow Brick Road to illustrate how individuals need to take full responsibility in each and every situation in order to explore and expand their options and capabilities. By doing so, it can propel the organization into a journey towards success as a whole. The Oz Principle includes steps and guidelines on how to implement the principles, such as the importance of working in teams and deliberating on the actions and outcomes of different decisions. The book also highlights that the critical decisions made in organizations should be conscious ones and that individuals should be held accountable for their roles.
