Sahih Muslim (Volume 5) is part of the six-volume back set of Hadith collections compiled by Imam Muslim, compiled around the year 915 CE it is one of the most authoritative and reliable collections of Hadith. The contents of this volume are divided into thirty-two books and cover topics such as Muslim beliefs, worship, fasting and pilgrimmage, marriage and divorce, and other topics. The book also contains legal opinions and interpretations of the Qurβan as well as traditions, sayings, and guidance of Muhammad. It also contains rules and regulations of ritual purity such as washing hands, prayer times, pilgrimage, and other practical issues. Additionally, it covers topics of women, slave rights, and inheritance laws. This book is an essential source for religious scholars as it provides both basis for legal opinions of Islamic law and context for the development of Islamic thought in subsequent centuries.
