Outliers: The Story of Success, by Malcolm Gladwell, is a book about the key ingredients for extraordinary success. The author argues that people’s success, regardless of the field, is largely a result of a combination of hard work, talent, and opportunity. He challenges the popular thinking that success is mainly a matter of inborn talent or genius. Instead, it is the result of a combination of factors, including timing, luck, upbringing, cultural and historical forces, and personal determination.
