'One Hundred Years of Solitude' is a classic novel written by Nobel Laureate Gabriel García Márquez. Set in the fictional town of Macondo, the novel follows seven generations of the Buendía family as they create their own isolated world through a gradual process of disconnecting from the outside world. As the family continues its quest for knowledge and progress, their dreams and prophecies are continually thwarted and contradicted by their own vices and from the deep-rooted superstitions present in their town. The novel highlights the timeless nature of human struggles such as the struggles between progress and tradition, reality and fantasy, identity and anonymity, isolation and connection, and faith and hope. Through its magical realism, it not only speaks of the cyclical journey of life, but of the human spirit's resistance and resilience that comes with a hundred years of solitude.
